Last week I ran a teleclass called Six Weeks To Launch and there are a huge number of you getting on board and rising to the Six Weeks To Launch Challenge (if you missed the call you can get the recording along with the Six Week To Launch Plan, access to the Six Week To Launch Community and details of the Fast Start call happening tonight by getting on the JigsawBox 14-day free trial before 8.30pm BST today).
Personally I’m planning a big launch of something special at the end of the Summer (watch this space!) and I’ve also got three children aged 6, 4 and 2 that I want to spend some quality time with these school holidays, so I’ll share with you my strategy for doing it all as I know many of you are in the same boat.
(Well I’ve been at cause with my working hours – see last week’s post- and have a wonderful au pair who looks after the kids during the day for me Monday to Thursday so I won’t share my current strategy with you, but I’ll tell you 6 Top Tips of how I’d do it if I didn’t have her!).
1. 7am CBeebies (or your equivalent for your country/age group) for one hour. Mums, this was why kids TV was invented. If you really get focused you can get an hour done on your biggest project. Do this one thing every day and you’ll be so far ahead of where you thought possible at the start of the holidays.
2. Do something completely enjoyable and relaxing with your family and friends for the rest of the morning – the holidays are a time for you to rejuvenate as well as your kids.
3. Lunchtime is quiet time in my house. The kids sleep or entertain themselves for another hour – this would be the time to catch up on email and update those blog posts and tweets.
4. Do the family thing all afternoon safe in the knowledge you’re on top of things.
5. Try to arrange what I call a ‘bulk playdate’ at least one afternoon a week during the school holidays. By this I mean juggle your diary and get all your kids out on a playdate all at the same time – takes some coordination but so worth it!
6. Stop watching TV and spend 2 hours an evening, 3 days a week creating those passive income stream products and services so that next holidays you’ll have money coming in even when you can’t work with your 1:1 clients so much of the time.
If you are a busy mum and business owner, the summer is the time when it will really become obvious to you how important it is to be developing those passive income streams – how nice to spend two weeks on the beach and know you’re still being paid. So take some time out this week to sign up to the 14-day JigsawBox trial, and join the Six Weeks To Launch challenge. School summer holidays or not, it can be done!
