JigsawBox Tip: Deactivate or Delete

There are many circumstances where deactivating or even deleting a client is a necessity.  Take for instance you have a client who has purchased a coaching package that you have set up as a monthly payment, however their payment details have been declined.  Hence, the client would  essentially be receiving new content for free.

What we need to recognize is that there is a large difference between deactivation and deletion of a client, and choosing the wrong one could result in great annoyance with both the client and yourself as a coach.

  • Deactivate a client
  1. Click on the My Clients tab.
  2. Scroll down to the package the client is currently utilizing and click the arrow next to the package.  A list of clients under that package will appear.
  3. Find the client and click Deactivate next to the clients name.

But the big questions are…now that we know HOW to deactivate a client, what purpose does it serve and when should it be done?  As for the later, let’s take a look at a couple scenarios…

* When the package expires and you no longer want the client to have access to new material

* When a client either cancels their payment subscription or has a declined payment

And the former question, what purpose does it have?

* Clients will continue to have access to the modules they purchased in that package, but will not have access to any additional documents you may add.

* Clients will also not have access to any modules you may add after the deactivation date.

* By creating a new “version” of the modules deactivated clients will only have access to the old version while new clients will have access to the new version.

Now how about we take a look at deleting a client and how it differs from deactivation…

  • Delete a client
  1. Click on the My Clients tab.
  2. Scroll down to the package the client is currently utilizing and click the arrow next to the package.  A list of clients under that package will appear.
  3. Find the client and click Delete next to the clients name.

When to use?

* A client no longer wants access to your product.

* You as a coach no longer want the client to access any material whatsoever

Purpose?

* When deleting a client, that client will no longer be able to log into and access their JigsawBox account.  Meaning, all access to any material is taken away completely.

* Please note:  deleting a client cannot be reversed.  If that particular client would like to purchase your product in the future they would need to create a new JigsawBox account, or if they already have an account they will need to re-add there username to your package.

*Please also note: deleting a client will remove them COMPLETELY from YOUR package.  If they happen to have another package with another coach, then this will NOT be affected.

As you can see, there are a great number of differences in deactivating a client and deleting a client entirely.  Of course, each option has its own wealth but we as coaches need to make the ultimate decision as to which one is the good choice for our particular situation.  But now that you are informed, that choice should not be an easy one.

How have you used this feature within your JigsawBox coaching account?
