I’m just on my way back from spending a wonderful 4 days in Las Vegas.
Now I’ve never been to the US before, so believe me, Vegas was a fresh perspective. And I’ve never been around that many Americans before and THAT was a fresh perspective too!
Sometimes we get so entrenched spending time with the people we feel comfortable with, and perhaps bouncing ideas off the same people time and again that it’s almost like we’re exploring new concepts and strategies but without realising we’re constraining our view of what might be possible.
For example, one of the benefits of being a speaker at an event (which I hadn’t realised before I attended Milana’s Recurring Revenue Revolution) is that you get to sit with the other speakers – who are all extremely successful in their fields, and at this event were all people I had never met personally before.
And the simple question:”But why do you do that in that way?” from one of my co-speakers about a really fundamental area of my business really made me stop and think. It was a simple question, but it took someone who had never met me, and knew next to nothing about my business to ask it.
And it took me being in a completely alien environment, out of my mind with jetlag to hear it.
Tomorrow I head off to my VIP coaching retreat with my own mentor. Five star luxury and another whole set of fresh perspectives I’m sure!
So, my task for you this week – how could you get yourself somewhere you never normally go, and talk your business over with someone you never normally would in the next seven days?
I wonder what your aha moment would be?
