Nurture Your List with Autoresponders

Internet marketing has grown exponentially over the last few years, and is now one of the most widely used promotional tool on the Internet. With an autoresponder, you can deliver your sales and customer follow-up content 24 hours a day/7 days a week to anyone in the world. Your target audience just grew ten-fold!

Here, we are going to look at some methods to develop great autoresponder messages for big results!

  • Personalize
The content of the message should be based on a one-on-one conversation. Write as if you were talking to a good friend, be informal. Use personalization codes such as {!firstname_fix} to add the recipients first name to the beginning of the message. This will give your clients the feeling of individual attention!
  • Reader Needs
Rule of thumb #1: Never ‘me’ or ‘I’. Your message should completely focus on your readers’ needs and how your program will benefit them. Of course, an About Me blurb is helpful, but overall the message should not contain your opinions of the product.
  • Show the Benefits
Rule of thumb #2: Benefits, not features. Play up exactly how your program will benefit your reader. Ask yourself, what do I hope my clients will retain from this? More clarity? Better business practices?
  • Free Gift
Just about every person loves to receive something for nothing, so give it to them! Have an e-book, offer it as a free download. But be strategic…leave the book open-ended and offer the full course for purchase at the end. Also, have your readers navigate to your site to download for more exposure.
  • Edit
Rule of thumb #3: Spell check is your friend. You want your readers to think of you as a professional and spelling errors will not portray that image!
  • Action
Why are your readers receiving this message? Is your wish to have them order a new product, a current product? Do you want feedback through a reply? Let your readers know what is asked of them in a clear and concise way. And include your contact information for any questions. Your reader wants to know where they can find you!
  • Branding and Subject Lines
Most autoresponder companies have great layouts available. Add your header, colors and anything else that brands you from the rest. Recognition is number 1 when it comes to a message being read or deleted. Same with your subject line!
  • Contacts
Often times, list size is misinterpreted. A good, quality list will win over size each and every time. Remember, subscribers WANT to learn more about your product!

By applying the ‘insider secrets’ above, by creating a well written and well thought out message, your autoresponders will help increase your sales and make email marketing well worth the extra effort!

How are you currently using email marketing to build your program? Have you found any or all of the above useful along the way?
