Realism and Coaching

Dream BIG!“Dream Big!”

How many times in the span of your life have you heard those words? We’ve heard them from parents, friends, teachers, associates, business partners, and so many more. It’s always about dreaming beyond your wildest expectations and ensuring automatic success in the “I want more NOW” way – but maybe not always the best way. Because of this, is dreaming big okay?

Absolutely – but when you do, have your feet planted firmly on the ground.

Dreaming big does not mean that you have to do it all first. It means you have to do it ALL.

It means that you have to have realistic goals and expectations, a clear understanding of the course of action of YOUR coaching business. Use tools such as timelines and success metrics that define the goals you have and the roads both big and small that will be taken to get there. Coordinate the milestones that you want to hit and don’t opt for the shortest way possible. Success isn’t about getting rich quick with a five minute, barely planned scheme and it doesn’t mean launching a program that doesn’t serve your integrity or meet with your high standards.

Dreaming big is about realism. Stop looking at the conclusion and start glancing at the beginning. If you are new to coaching, then make realistic goals that suit the way you teach. Remember to go at your own pace and stop feeling rushed because someone else is doing it before you. It isn’t about them, it is about you. Pair those proven, time tested, and trusted methods you already know with innovation and creativity of your own. Trust me, it works.

You have to have the confidence to know that you will go the distance and ultimately succeed at your own goals – as long as you never stop trying.

And as coaches, you know that you never stop trying.
