You know what? There has never been a better time to write your book and become an author. The opportunities available for authors in the 21st Century are endless. Yet, the majority of entrepreneurs who say they want to write a book don’t actually do it. Why? Based on more than 900 responses to a recent survey by Transformational Book Coach, Christine Kloser, aspiring authors revealed what holds them back.

The majority of authors don’t know where to start or what to do first. They are overwhelmed with too much information and not enough action. Sometimes things like fear and doubt creep in. Other times, its confusion, lack of clarity or confidence that can stop an author in their tracks. Another big challenge for authors is feeling like their book has already been written… by somebody else.

Not to mention the maze of information out there about writing and publishing a book. Is it best to self-publish or try to get an agent and sell your manuscript? How important is it to build your platform? What are the first things to do to start writing your book? How can you leverage your book to grow your business? What do you do about “writer’s block?” How much will it cost to publish?

The questions facing an aspiring author can be endless and the answers are often times confusing. But, you CAN’T let that stop you, it doesn’t have to be that way. There are great people out there who want to help you write your BEST book, who are interested in your message and your success more than they’re interested in your money.

Believe that YES it is absolutely possible to write your book in a way that is easy, joyful and fun – without wasting your precious time, money or energy going in circles. It’s also possible your book will bring about profound personal, professional, and even planetary transformation.

Consider this…

Throughout history; books have played a critical role in impacting readers to create positive changes in their lives. Seeing that individual transformation impacts global transformation – it can be said the books truly do have the power to transform the world. JigsawBox Tip: *Refresher* Give Your Clients A Test Drive

Before you commit to paying for a JigsawBox account, you have a 14-day free trial to determine whether it’s the right solution for you. Your clients can have the same opportunity if you give them a free trial. When you give your clients a test drive, they can have a closer look at what working with you would be like and it may lead to more sales. Here’s how it works:

When you edit or create a new package, you have the option of including a number of days of free trial for your clients to take a look at what you’re offering. The number of days you choose will be reflected in the client’s PayPal payment. For example, if you set the trial for 7 days, the client’s PayPal page will show a 7-day free trial when they register. It will also show a payment of whatever price you have set up for the client to pay. This is the amount the client will be charged automatically unless they choose to cancel.

Once you set this up in PayPal, you’ll go to the Package Modules at the bottom right of your create/edit package page and click on each one in turn. Select how many days you would like your modules to be available. For example, if you want three of your modules to be available during the trial period and the rest to be available immediately after the trial finishes, you would set the first three modules to be available on day 0, and the rest on day 7.

It is important to note that if a client cancels their payment and decides not to continue after their trial, that you deactivate the client from the package on the My Clients page. Even when a client is deactivated, they will still be able to access everything that was available to them during the free trial, so you have to be selective about what you make available during this free trial period. For example, don’t give your clients a free trial of ALL of your modules, especially if they are content-packed. Those who plan to just take a test drive will still be able to access all this information for free even if you deactivate them.

The alternative is to delete a client entirely, which means they will no longer be able to access your package. You can do this on the My Clients page.

We’d love to hear any success stories or challenges with offering free trials to clients. Please leave your comments below.

JigsawBox Tip: *Refresher* Using Your JigsawBox – Journal

Following the hive of activity in the new JigsawBox Community for our members, we’ve seen a lot of you talking about 1:1 coaching and journals.

For more on how to use your JigsawBox for your 1:1 Coaching, click here to read more.

Today we are sharing some tips on how you can give your clients a place to store their thoughts, notes and learning all in one place. This will allow your clients to ditch the notepad and post-it notes and type in their responses on a secure site, where they can find their notes quickly and easily.

A learning log, journal, or notes – whatever you you would like to call it can all be done in your JigsawBox. Here’s how:

1.) Create one module called Journal or Learning Log – or whatever you would like :)

2.) In the content box, explain how your clients should us the module, try something like:

“Welcome to the Journal. This module is all about YOU! Come back here (you list how often you want people to return) and answer the question(s) below. Each time you come back you will see your previous responses and a new box to enter new responses. This module is designed to be a running list of all of your insights and notes so you can see how well you are progressing through this coaching process.”

3.) In the Questions Area of your module, type in one or two questions. It can be as simple as:

“Type in your insights or aha moments after reviewing the content this week.” Or…

“Share you thoughts and feelings today about (topic).”

Once you’ve done this, you can make this module live and drag it into any JigsawBox package that you would like.

When your clients log in they will see your explanation and be able to type in new responses as often as they want.

As the Coach you will be able to see their responses in two ways:

1.) My Clients: go to the My Clients page, click the arrow to the left of the package name you wish to review client data for. This drops down a list of all of your clients in that package. Once you find the client, click the arrow to the left of their name and this will drop down a list of all the modules this client is in. On the right you can click the green arrow next to Learning Log/Journal module and you will be able to see all of their responses.

2.) Run a Report: go to My Reports, click the check-box next to the Package you want to run a report for, then check the client(s) you want to include in the report, click to run your report and you will have all the responses in one document for you to review

Creating a Journal/Learning Log is just one way you can use your JigsawBox and we’ll be sharing more ideas for you over the coming weeks in our Using Your JigsawBox blog series. Do you have some creative ideas for using your JigsawBox? Or…do you have a question or new ways to use your JigsawBox? Share your ideas and questions below and we may just use your ideas or questions for a future blog post!

Monday Mindset: Are You Stealing From Your Clients?

I read a quote by Neil Young the other day ‘Holding back is so close to stealing’.

That really thumped into me with an almighty whack an understanding I’ve had for years – I know all about ‘not playing small’ and ‘going after the big vision’.

But this quote really reminded me that when you’re not playing full out, you’re cheating your potential clients out of the help you could provide them with.

I know it can be frustrating when you’re not serving as many clients as you’d like to.

I also know it can be tempting to give up.

But I see it like this. There are hundreds, if not thousands of people out there who are waiting for you. If they never find you, their lives will be crap. And that will impact on their kids, their husbands and wives, their friends and colleagues at work. And that will impact on their kids, friends and so on and so on. There’s a huge ripple effect of you NOT reaching out to that client.

When I think of them, I have this image I’d like to share. It’s like they’re ‘tagged’ with your name. The person who has the perfect solution to help them overcome this specific problem they have.

But the tag is invisible and no one can see it. And when they do find you, that tag next to their name lights up when they connect and work with you and they’re so glad they found you, and you rock their world.

But if they never find you, that tag remains invisible – it might flicker every now and again as they come into contact with someone else that can help, but that tag won’t shine until they find the person that can help them change everything.

And if your name is the one on their tag, not doing what it takes for them to find you is pretty damned close to stealing, wouldn’t you say?

So even when it’s hard, even when you’re wondering why you set out on this path at all, even when you’re tempted to give up – know that those clients are all sitting out there with your tag – you’ve just got to get in front of them and show them you’re the one.
